Johnston & Murphy reveals reimagined store at Charlotte Douglas International

USA. American premium lifestyle brand Johnston & Murphy has opened a “fully reimagined retail experience” at North Carolina Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Relocating to a larger space within the hub’s popular Atrium, Johnston & Murphy said the store underlines its investment in airport retail.

The 1,850sq ft store features footwear, clothing and accessories for both men and women, including the new autumn line of casual footwear with innovative comfort technology as well as boots and dress classics.

Johnston & Murphy President Danny Ewoldsen said: “We continue to see growth in retail and are highly encouraged by the rise in foot traffic and sales in our airport locations.

“The Charlotte Airport has proven to be one of our highest volume locations and we are confident that our investment in a larger, updated space in a more highly trafficked area will only drive better results. The airport experience for travellers has improved tremendously over the years and it is our goal to be an integral player in this trend.”

According to Johnston and Murphy, its investment in the Charlotte location “comes as the airport retailing market is in an upward trajectory. Airports are future-proofing by embracing innovation, enhancing passenger experiences and reimagining retail spaces,” the company added.

Its products are available in more than 2,000 global retail and wholesale locations. In the USA, Johnston & Murphy operates 66 retail stores, 62 factory outlets and 24 airport locations.

The company said its commitment to retail revamps and expansion continues, particularly around its airport locations, with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia recently reopening after extensive remodels and updates planned next year for Denver, Chicago Midway and Miami. ✈️
