Niche house Juliette Has A Gun harnesses flower power for new feminine fragrance Romantina |
Niche fragrance house Juliette Has A Gun has unveiled a new feminine fragrance called Romantina. It is the first floral scent within the house’s portfolio and, as its name suggests, explores a more romantic side of the brand’s personality – albeit with a trademark olfactory twist.
“I have always wanted to do a floral fragrance, and to a certain extent Not A Perfume [a lighter fragrance composed around Ambroxan, launched last year] inspired me with this one,” brand founder Romano Ricci told The Moodie Report.
“I have always liked tuberose, so that was the starting point, mixed with orange blossom. But the formula is still 60% musk, so it’s not a straight floral. There’s patchouli and vanilla too, so the heart is a little bit chypré. It’s delicate but subversive, like all my fragrances.”
Romantina, available as a 50ml and 100ml edp, will be launched in December into the complete Juliette Has A Gun distribution network.
Ricci confirmed that Europe is the strongest region for the house, with Italy and Germany among the top individual markets. “We have also seen big development in Russia lately, and of course in duty free. The Middle East is another positive performer.”
In addition to Romantina, Ricci presented his new Vengeance Extrême fragrance during this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. (Lady Vengeance was one of the house’s first fragrances, along with Miss Charming and Citizen Queen.)
“Vengeance Extrême is an erotic fragrance: intense and dominant,” he noted. The chypre scent, which sports a black and red colour-scheme, is already available on certain domestic markets. “It’s one of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve done,” concluded Ricci. “I am very, very proud of it.”
