AUSTRALIA. Organic beauty brand Jurlique continues to strengthen its travel retail presence, in conjunction with its worldwide duty free agent Escale Group.
The company will be exhibiting – and offering complimentary mini-treatments – at next month’s Duty Free Show of the Americas in Ft Lauderdale (Booth 302).
In the past year Jurlique has gained a slew of travel retail listings, which it is hoping to build on substantially in 2005.
Within Asia, the company has entered key airport doors such as Singapore Changi, Shanghai Pudong and Tokyo Narita, to complement its presence in Hong Kong, Taipei, Manila, Macau and downtown doors in South Korea.
In addition, Jurlique has entered Aruba, in conjunction with Dufry. Escale President Caroline Cheung described the results there as “phenomenal”.
Cheung also confirmed a breakthrough listing onboard Japan Airlines to The Moodie Report. “Usually JAL is very selective and conservative, and only carries the top four brands in any category,” she explained. “But it has recognised Jurlique as the leader in natural skincare, and it is in high demand by its Japanese customers.”
Aside from JAL, Jurlique is also present onboard Cathay Pacific, Continental, Northwest, Dragonair, China Airlines, Air Macau and LanChile, with more partnerships currently under discussion.
As Jurlique has advanced in the channel, it has stepped up the development of its travel retail exclusive items and special packaging.
And it has – literally- built on its acclaimed domestic spa business with the opening of the first Jurlique-operated spa at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). As previously reported, this offers a range of both mini and traditional spa treatments specially designed for travellers, to combat jetlag, stress, dehydration and other unwanted travel “side effects”.
Jurlique further developed its HKIA presence last September with the addition of a personalised Jurlique corner.
Domestically the company continues to expand through its Concept Stores and Wellness Sanctuaries. Key locations include Madison Avenue, NYC, Beverly Boulevard in Beverly Hills, Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, the Sony Center in Ginza, Tokyo and the Landmark and World Trade Center in Hong Kong.
