AUSTRALIA. Organic and biodynamic skincare company Jurlique presented a selection of novelties at last month’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, in terms of both new products and new travel retail exclusive sets.
“We are very happy with the sales results of the latest additions to our Purely Age-Defying range,” Director International Marketing Terry Fung told The Moodie Report. “And the new Jasmine range has proved to be a great addition to our body care portfolio”¦we will further extend that with a hand cream in two sizes next year.”
The brand’s new Love Balm (a limited-edition multi-purpose product for use on the face or body) will also feature in certain holiday gift sets.
“We will continue to build on our collection of travel retail sets in 2010,” noted Fung. “Among the key introductions will be a 3 x 40ml Hand Cream trio (featuring Rose, Lavender and Citrus products), and a Survival Kit on the Farm.”
The farm references Jurlique’s biodynamic, self-sustaining farm in South Australia, from which it sources its product ingredients. The Survival Kit features a Rose Mist, Rose Hand Cream, Herbal Recovery Gel and Daily Exfoliating Cream.
“We have got much better at communicating our unique heritage and ideals,” explained Fung, “and try to incorporate them in everything we do. For example, we recently created an organic cotton “eco tote” as a gift for customers, making sure that even our gwps are tied to the values of the brand.”
Looking ahead, Jurlique will reanimate and extend its Herbal Recovery collection with a new 20ml eye cream, said to be ideal for those consumers seeking a product richer than the existing Herbal Recovery Eye Gel, but not as heavy as the brand’s Purely Age-Defying Eye Cream.
Next year will also see Jurlique introduce new products that harness the qualities of indigenous Australian “super fruits”, such as the quandong and the kakadu plum.
“Our strategy will be to focus on our successful core franchises, and on sure-bet innovations that we consider to be a good fit for the brand,” concluded Fung.
