Karelia emphasises channel exclusives with product offer for Singapore show

Karelia Tobacco Company will highlight exclusive travel retail packaging and channel-customised merchandising units at next month’s TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition (Basement 2 C 34).

George Karelias and Sons, Karelia Slims, Omé, Karelia Family and American Legend feature in the Greek company’s brand line-up. George Karelias roll-your-own tobacco will be highlighted.

Karelia says its Omé brand is proving popular in China.

Karelia Public Relations Manager Joanna Kamarinopoulos said the company continues to strengthen its position in travel retail. She underlined the use of exclusive packaging and customised merchandising units, which were recently placed in duty free outlets in Turkey.

As reported, Karelia has refreshed its Omé cigarette line with new Blue & White 100’s. The new packs offer a Round Corner format variation of the brand’s superslims range and feature Hollow Filter technology which, Karelia Tobacco said, improves draw and taste.

Multi-packs of George Karelias and Sons and Karelia Slims in formats of 400’s, 600’s and 800’s have proven popular in travel retail, Kamarinopoulos noted.

She said sales from the Asian duty free market were encouraging, with Karelia Slims and Omé brands increasingly popular with adult smokers in Beijing and Shanghai.
