QATAR. Keith Hunter (pictured) has left his role as Senior Vice President of Qatar Duty Free after nearly eight years.
The well-respected Hunter has returned to his native UK.
Luis Gasset, formerly Vice President Luxury Business, has been appointed Senior Vice President. Gasset joined parent company Qatar Airways in the airport’s luxury business in January 2015. Before that he held a number of senior executive roles at Bvlgari, including CEO Middle East & Africa from October 2007 until January 2015.
Hunter joined Qatar Airways in October 2008 as Senior Vice President of the national carrier’s duty free business at Doha International Airport.
He also drove Qatar Airways’ onboard duty free sales and led the company’s new Food & Beverage division at Hamad International Airport, the state-of-the-art greenfield airport opened in 2014, where he led the creation of an ambitious retail offer. Hunter has also been a key board member of the Middle East Duty Free Association (MEADFA).
