Kreol Travel Retail has been named as travel retail distributor for Lion beer for the UAE and Indian markets. The Sri Lankan beer brand is owned by Lion Brewery (Ceylon).
“We are delighted to work with the brand and master distributor National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels,” said Kreol Travel Retail CEO Lal Arakulath.
Lion beer is brewed and exported widely from Sri Lanka, with a strong following among Sri Lankan expatriates in the UK, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, France and Italy.
In the US it has a presence in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Colorado and Florida. The brand is also the leader in the Maldives market with a 57% share.
In the past year, Kreol Travel Retail has struck distribution agreements with Hunter Laing whisky, Sölen confectionery, Rhum Clément rum and Dobbé Cognac for selected travel retail markets.
