PORTUGAL. Travel retail watch and jewellery specialist Kurate International has collaborated with Portugal Duty Free to introduce Belle & Beau at Lisbon Airport. Portugal Duty Free is a partnership between Aeroportos de Portugal (ANA)/Vinci Airports and Aer Rianta International (ARI).
Launched in 2015, Belle & Beau is an affordable self-select fashion jewellery brand. The Lisbon Airport listing comes as Kurate International extends its network in travel retail.
The company is focusing on securing more airport, cruise and ferry locations for its key brands: Belle & Beau, Author and Moon. Kurate will also highlight products from these brands at its stand in Green Village K56 at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (2 to 5 October).

At the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore, Kurate International introduced a self-select display unit which aims to drive impulse sales in travel retail environments. Further display options, including a prototype for a cruise countertop unit, will be revealed at the Cannes event.
Kurate International International/Travel Retail Key Account Manager Sharon Edwards said, “We are very excited to be launching with Portugal Duty Free. This marks a significant milestone for Belle & Beau. With price points ranging from just £12 (US$15) to £39 (US$49), the brand presents an easy purchasing decision to travellers.
“And let’s not forget that all the products are perfectly packaged in bespoke boxes and bags, which makes Belle & Beau perfect for gifting.”

Other new partnerships for Belle & Beau include Condor Ferries in Europe and London Supply in Latin America. Three Belle & Beau fixtures have also been placed with DFDS on its Dover ferry route. The brand will launch with ARI at Abu Dhabi International Airport later this year and a further listing at Paphos International Airport in Cyprus is to be confirmed, said the brand owner.

Abu Dhabi will be the first airport listing for Belle & Beau’s Author collection, as Kurate International actively expands its product line-up to meet a wider price point spectrum. Author jewellery covers price points from £35 (US$44) to £125 (US$158) with individual ranges created for inflight and ground stores as well as for cruise & ferries.
“Author has been very well received by the industry and we have secured a number of inflight listings,” said Edwards. “The higher price points make it particularly suitable for airport and downtown shops along with ferries and cruise ships – markets that we are keen to develop in 2023 and beyond.
“Author is proving very popular, especially as it has such a strong sustainability story to tell. Its jewellery is made from recycled silver, presented in recycled and recyclable packaging so it can really tick the boxes for both retailers and consumers.
“We are working on more modular displays for Author so we can be versatile in other areas, including the cruise channel. We want to open more doors for the brand, with of course sustainability being the key message.”
Moon watches will also be a strong feature in Kurate International’s presentation at the TFWA World Exhibition. Edwards added, “Moon offers retailers strong entry price point options and is especially of interest to inflight operators.” ✈
