FRANCE. French fashion house Lacoste has appointed Franck Riboud as a new Director. He is Chairman and CEO of Danone Group and a Director of Accor Group, L’Oréal, Renault and Quiksilver.
Riboud will occupy the seat left vacant by Bernard Lacoste who passed away on 21 March. Bernard Lacoste – who presided over the firm for more than 40 years – had to resign for health reasons in September 2005, and his brother Michel Lacoste was at that time appointed Chairman and CEO.
In addition to Riboud and Michel Lacoste, the Board includes: Catherine Lacoste Piñero, Marie-Béryl Lacoste Hamilton, Sophie Lacoste Dournel, Jean-Marie Lacoste, Stephen Rubin (President of Pentland Grou)p, Professor Jean-Noël Kapferer, Didier Maus (President of Maus Frères), Guy Latourrette (representing Devanlay) and Daniel Arnaud (representing Montaigne Diffusion).
Riboud’s appointment was announced at Lacoste’s general shareholders’ meeting on 22 June.
