Ladurée and Fragonard land at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport

FRANCE. Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has opened two new pop-up shops in Terminal 2, especially for the summer season. French pâtisserie Ladurée, famous for its macaroons, has installed a stand in the landside check-in hall until 30 September.

Described as more than a conventional shop, the Ladurée boutique offers a selection of gourmet treats, including macaroons, chocolates, teas and candles. Highlights include the limited-edition “Yuzu-ginger” yellow macaroon; the “Art Deco” strawberry-mint and melon macaroon box; and the “Little Beach Hut” peach and fig desserts.

Grasse fragrance house Fragonard has a pop-up boutique in T2 until 31 October

Grasse fragrance house Fragonard’s pop-up shop will be open in T2 until 31 October. The company is best known for its fragrances, cosmetics, candles and soaps, but has also diversified into jewellery, purses, make-up bags and fashion accessories.

Fragonard’s Nice boutique offers original souvenir items, such as oilskin pouches illustrated with regional designs; travel accessories such as cotton suitcase organisers; hand-embroidered lingerie; sarongs; and canvas beach bags.

In other news, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport will further promote its Sense of Place this summer, by showcasing airside a selection of “Riviera Touch” products, from 8-25 August.

Aided by advisers, travellers will be able to browse regional products such as lavender honey from confectioner Florian, Bellet wines and Nice Alziari AOC olive oil. Regional scents, such as Fragonard’s Mint-Basil room fragrance diffuser, L’Occitane’s Scents of the Riviera, and a selection of regional books, will also be on offer.
