FRANCE. Lagardère Travel Retail raised €239,322 for Action against Hunger in 2015, a rise of +15% compared to 2014. The retailer has partnered with the charity (which abbreviates to ACF in French) since 2011, and in that time Lagardère Travel Retail has raised €667 000, saving more than 10,000 children from malnutrition and allowing ACF to provide populations with better access to patient care and clean water.
Since 2011, Lagardère Travel Retail has used its points of sale in Paris and the French regions to mobilise support, offering passengers the opportunity to support ACF in a number of ways.
Passengers are invited to donate €2 or more at the check-out, a drive that has been the main source of funding since 2011. Since 2013 two other initiatives have helped. Customers at Paris CDG and Orly airports have been able to can buy a soft toy, the Gustave bear, and provide ACF with €2 for each bear sold. In 2016, this product will also be available in the retailer’s regional stores.
Also, a sporting inter-companies challenge in La Défense presented staff with the opportunity to donate time and energy to ACF.

In 2015, the mini donations gathered €219,560 and the 128 employees involved in the inter-companies challenge raised €19,762.
On 11 February, Lagardère Travel Retail promoted its partnership by delivering two cheques to the organisation.
The partnership continues in 2016, with Lagardère Travel Retail aiming to mobilise more of its teams in Paris and the regions behind the effort.
