Lagardère Travel Retail salutes collaboration with Cagliari Elmas Airport

ITALY. Lagardère Travel Retail has applauded the positive impact of the opening of a new Aelia Duty Free store at Cagliari Elmas Airport (Mario Mameli) Airport, on the island of Sardinia.

As reported, Lagardère Travel Retail Italia opened the 200sq m, post-security shop, on 1 July. It is the 20th to open in Italy, joining the network of stores at Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino, Venice, Treviso, Trieste, Brindisi and Palermo airports.

The Aelia Duty Free concept is the flagship format of the international Lagardère Travel Retail group. It aims to offer travellers a shopping experience which focuses on authenticity, refinement and customer care.

Lagardère said all COVID-19 safety and distancing regulations were followed in the development of the new store at the SOGAER-managed airport.

SOGAER Chief Commercial Officer David Crognaletti said the store underlined the “strategic and consolidated partnership” enjoyed by the two companies. “[It] is a further strong sign of great confidence both in the decisive recovery of the sector and in the potential of the Cagliari airport which aims at an ever greater internationalisation,” he added.
