ROMANIA. Lagardère Travel Retail is set to open a lounge with airfield views at Romania’s Sibiu International Airport on 1 March. The 81sq m facility – which has a capacity of 25 people – has been fitted out at a cost of €70,000 (US$79,270).

Sibiu International Airport is located in southern Transylvania, three kilometres west of the city of Sibiu.
Services on offer include high-speed internet connection, local and international press and magazines, device recharge stations, and print and scan facilities.
The food & beverage offer includes specialty coffee from the adjacent satellite So! Coffee unit, which is a new 18sq m facility also operated by Lagardère Travel Retail.

Soft and alcoholic drinks are available, as are snacks, sandwiches, pastries, salads and desserts from the local Lagardère Travel Retail Romania assortment.
Lagardère Travel Retail opened its first Relay store in Sibiu in 2007, and now operates four such outlets at the airport.
The travel retailer told The Moodie David Report that in 2021 about one in three passengers at the airport used a Relay store.
