French crystal and jewellery maker-turned perfumer Lalique has launched a new fragrance called Illusion Captive. It will be highlighted at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (J33, Red Village).
The scent’s flacon, inspired by René Lalique’s Libellule (Dragonfly) brooch, is decorated with a mosaic motif on the back which evokes the silhouette of the dragonfly woman and veins of her wings. The drawing is reflected by the front façade and enhanced by the golden hue of the fragrance.
The fragrance, created by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni, opens with Italian bergamot and fig leaves atop a heart of cinnamon from Ceylon, rose and jasmine sambac. Cedarwood and Indonesian patchouli blend at the base while cistus labdanum, vanilla, tonka bean and myrrh combine in the dry down.
