Lambretta Watches buoyed by success of Stena Line promotion

Lambretta Watches has reported the successful spring launch of its new 60s Pin-up collection onboard Stena Line Scandinavia.

The price promotion saw the sales figures of the Cielo fashion watch range increase to over 1,100 pieces, up more than four times from the same period last year. The goal to double the revenue compared to last year was reached half way through the two-and-a-half month promotional period.

Capella Industries Key Account Manager Sofia Knutsson, who conducted the promotion, said: “The sales results exceeded all expectations. Also, it was really nice to see that the new Pin-Up models performed particularly well.

“The Pin-Up collection is a selection of three navy striped and three polka dot fashion watches in line with the current 60s fashion. They add to the success of the Lambretta Cielo models, sold from a free access display unit or custom-built wall units onboard.

“With three of the new styles in the top five of our sales onboard, we are pleased consumers get our fun and affordable concept, well communicated by the staff and promotional material onboard.”

Stena Line Scandinavia AB Fashion, Gifts & Toys Buyer Carina Nilsson commented: “”We are tremendously pleased with the outcome of this promotion – this shows that a watch is increasingly perceived as a fashion accessory.”

The Swedish design watches have a 37mm case, stainless steel caseback, leather strap, Miyota 2035 movement and two-year international warranty. The travel retail price is €59/US$70. The watch is available in 19 colours.

In other news, Sales Director – Travel Retail Europe Beatrice Düring reported that Lambretta Watches are performing well in airport stores across Europe and onboard the Nordic ferries.
