INTERNATIONAL. Lancôme was the best-distributed fragrances and cosmetics brand in inflight retail for the summer and autumn period in 2012 (June to October), according to the latest annual inflight survey from respected French research house DRP.
The survey is based on the inflight shopping catalogues for the summer/autumn period drawn from 113 airlines surveyed, and from around 8,000 beauty skus.
Dior ranked second behind Lancôme in the listings by brands category, with Estée Lauder third, Calvin Klein fourth and Clinique next.

Ranked by product line, the best-ranked item was Paco Rabanne One Million, followed by Dior Les Parfums de Dior and Dior J’Adore.
Ranked by house, L’Oréal topped the list, followed by Estée Lauder and LVMH.
The average number of beauty skus carried by airline was 56, DRP found.
The research company said: “This survey is a unique tool to evaluate manufacturers’ performance in the airline channel distribution and to compare prices to airport and domestic distribution.”
