Landmark day for Shinsegae Duty Free as first Korean airport Louis Vuitton duplex store opens at Incheon

SOUTH KOREA. Shinsegae Duty Free today completed the milestone opening of its two-storey Louis Vuitton store at Incheon International Airport – a first for any Korean gateway.

With the official launch of the men’s section on the 4th floor this morning, the duplex boutique at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 is now fully operational – seven years after the terminal first opened in 2018.

“Amid the rising share of individual travellers, Louis Vuitton has strengthened its footprint at the airport by expanding into Terminal 2 following its longstanding presence at Terminal 1.”

Louis Vuitton made history in 2011 with the opening of its first-ever airport boutique at Incheon Terminal 1 (an opening attended by The Moodie Davitt Report).

This February the luxury house introduced a women’s store on T2’s third floor, an offering both complemented and completed by today’s opening of the dedicated men’s section.

The men’s store showcases the full range of Louis Vuitton’s offerings – from signature pieces such as the Keepall and Horizon collections to ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, fine jewellery, and fragrances. This assortment provides travellers with a comprehensive luxury shopping experience in one location, Shinsegae Duty Free noted.

Shinsegae Duty Free emphasised its leadership in the luxury travel retail sector, highlighting the curated selection of top-tier brands available at its flagship Myeong-dong store in downtown Seoul – including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Chanel – and at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, where renowned brands such as Hermès (with a debut double-façade store), Celine and Bottega Veneta have also established a strong presence.

All about the FIT

Shinsegae Duty Free said it is elevating the travel retail experience through exclusive airport-only products and brand-centric store designs, enhancing its competitive edge amid intensifying global competition for luxury brand placement at airports.

A Shinsegae Duty Free spokesperson commented, “The completion of the Louis Vuitton duplex store sets a new benchmark for luxury shopping at Incheon Airport. We will continue to strengthen our role as a strategic partner for global luxury brands by attracting more individual travellers and delivering differentiated customer experiences.”
