Léon Hatot marks centenary with fan-inspired jewellery and watch collection – 22/03/05

Léon Hatot’s Eventail (“fan”) collection, created to celebrate the company’s centenary, is described as delicate, feminine and original

SWITZERLAND. Léon Hatot, part of the Swatch group, has unveiled the Eventail (“fan”) collection of watches and jewellery, created to celebrate its centenary and the opening of its first boutique in Paris, France.

Described as delicate, feminine and original, the Eventail collection includes a pendant, ring, earrings and watch. All the models are made with traditional jewellery-making techniques, such as engraving and gem-setting.

The pendant features 194 diamonds, four baguette-cut sapphires, and three chalcedonies. The upper diamond rim has arabesque motifs, framing a diamond-pavé half-sphere.

The earrings, forming the central part of the fan, boast 269 diamonds, plus eight sapphires and two chalcedonies. The ring, in white gold, has 60 diamonds, four sapphires and one chalcedony.

The watch is shaped like a curved rectangle and set with a row of diamonds. In total the timepiece boasts 167 diamonds, four sapphires and three chalcedonies. On either side of the case, the two wristband attachments are engraved with arabesque patterns and set with diamonds, matching the motif on the cover. The cover opens to reveal a white mother-of-pearl dial, adorned with gold threads and set with diamonds. A corrector set with the company’s Coup de Foudre diamond adjusts the time.
