MALAYSIA. Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhard (MAHB) is celebrating the return of the ‘Licence to Win’ airport shopping campaign from 1 July to 31 December 2024 across its airports.
This year’s edition offers shoppers the chance to win up to MYR1 million (US$214,000) worth of shopping vouchers, along with other prizes.
Shoppers can participate in the campaign by spending a minimum of MYR350 (US$77) per receipt across participating airports. A maximum of two receipts can be presented on the same day to qualify for one entry. Additionally, spending at any Eraman store will earn double entries.
Participating airports include Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) terminals 1 and 2, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Kuching international airports.
The campaign is designed to boost spending across the airports with the prizes also directly boosting tenant sales.

The competition includes a MYR1 million shopping spree grand prize for the main winner. Also up for grabs are shopping sprees worth MYR50,000, MYR30,000 and MYR20,000.
There are four monthly prizes of MYR2,000 shopping sprees and a bonus offering of a MYR10,000 shopping spree exclusively for entries from Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Kuching international airports.
In 2019, the Licence to Win campaign recorded a +27% increase in sales, surpassing MYR178 million (US$38 million).

Previous years saw supercars such as Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and McLaren 570S Coupes as grand prizes.
The 2024 campaign’s aims include a sales target of MYR201 million (US$43.1 million), a +12.9% increase from 2019.
In the past year, MAHB has enhanced its retail offerings, creating an immersive shopping environment for both travellers and locals. Strategic initiatives have empowered retailers, facilitating increased sales and engagement.
Highlights include Jamie Oliver, which made its Malaysia debut with MAHB; and airport-first concepts such as Din by Din Tai Fung and Kyochon. Luxury retailers including Bulgari and Hugo Boss further elevate the shopping experience, making the MYR1 million grand prize particularly attractive.
