CHINA. Camus Cuvée 4.186 Electrum Cognac was launched into the duty free channel this week at cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex.
The ultra-premium Cuvée, the seventh of its kind in a line dating back 15 years, takes the 4.186 reference from a marriage of four eaux-de-vies and the collective 186 years these Cognacs have aged.

Only 315 numbered decanters, each marked with the emblematic ‘Electrum’, have been produced.
The ultra-premium Cognac (domestic price €12,800) was launched at the Camus Cognac Gallery in the acclaimed shopping emporium.

The launch ceremony was graced by Camus Wines & Spirits President Cyril Camus – representing the fifth-generation of the Camus family – who delivered a welcome speech, and Chang Zhujun (Luke Chang), Executive Vice President of China Duty Free Group/CDFG), along with fellow executives from both companies.
The Moodie Davitt Report was represented by Dachang Wang, our Haikou-based Editor of Moodie Davitt China Travel Retail Express*, which first broke this story.

Cyril Camus said Camus Cuvée 4.186 represents both classic tradition and modern innovation, demonstrating the perfect fusion of excellent distilling craftsmanship and aesthetic design.
The launch builds on a long-standing partnership between Camus and CDFG. With the rapid development of Hainan Free Trade Port and the related offshore duty free business, the cooperation between the two parties has become increasingly close, CDFG said.
CDFG’s creation of cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex carries great significance for the island Free Trade Port programme and the global travel retail sector, the group added.
As revealed by The Moodie Davitt Report, Camus opened a 621sq m boutique – its biggest ever – at the cdf Haikou International Duty Free Shopping Complex last October.
The boutique is located on the lower ground floor, a zone normally dedicated to luxury fashion or jewellery.

“Camus’ presence in cdf Hainan Duty Free Shopping Complex represents the French group’s commitment to the duty free market and its determination to present consumers with a diverse and rich Cognac and wine experience,” CDFG said.
The Camus Cognac Gallery boutique displays the full range of Camus products and rare expressions, including Camus Family Collection Borderies Signature, Camus Intense Classic and Camus Extra.
The boutique also houses a Les Ateliers Camus exhibition area, which displays a selection of “unique masterpieces and bespoke Cognacs,” including the Cuvée Masterpiece Collection and the Private Collection (a limited series of XO special blends with an elevated level of personalisation designed as the ultimate gift). ✈
