SWITZERLAND. Chocolate house Lindt & Sprüngli has unveiled a revamped retail island at Zurich Airport. Spanning 57sq m, the enhanced space continues the long-standing collaboration between Lindt, Avolta and Zurich Airport.
The upgraded retail island is designed to elevate shopper engagement through innovative features and high-quality product offerings. It also serves as a complement to the Lindt boutique at the airport.
The centrepiece of the space is the Lindor Smile Machine, an interactive photo booth that merges entertainment with sampling. The Smile Machine encourages visitors to smile, rewarding them with a printed souvenir photo and a chilled Lindor truffle.
Freshly crafted chocolates, sourced from the nearby Lindt Boutique at the airport, add another layer of sensorial appeal to the retail island, offering travellers a chance to experience the Swiss brand’s artisanal chocolate craftsmanship.
Travellers can shop popular Lindt lines including Lindor and Swiss Masterpieces alongside new additions such as the Lindt Choco Wafers. The Lindt Gruezi range and Lindor Pick & Mix are also prominently showcased.
In addition, Lindt has introduced a limited run of 200 Dubai Chocolade tablets for the launch. The ‘viral’ Dubai Chocolade tablets sold out in under four hours, mirroring the success of the line’s previous limited-edition launches in travel retail.
Lindt partnered with Avolta to introduce the Lindt Dubai Chocolade Limited Edition at Zürich Airport in December. The launch was teased via Lindt’s Instagram account, leveraging the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ trend that has captivated social media users, particularly on TikTok.
Lindt & Sprüngli Head of Global Travel Retail Peter Zehnder commented: “Zurich Airport is a strategically key location for Lindt in travel retail where we aim to deliver the ultimate expression of the Lindt brand and bring to life our mission: to enchant the world with chocolate.
“Our upgraded Lindt retail island is a perfect complement to the Lindt boutique at Zurich Airport, offering shoppers the opportunity to explore a broad range of our chocolates in a premium, engaging space.
“We’re delighted to strengthen our leadership in premium chocolate at our home airport and to continue partnering with Avolta and Zurich Airport to deliver more memorable Lindt moments.” ✈
