SWITZERLAND. Swiss chocolate house Lindt partnered with Avolta to launch the ‘viral’ Lindt Dubai Chocolade Limited Edition at Zürich Airport, the brand’s flagship travel retail location. Only 50 bars were available and sold out within minutes, underscoring the product’s ‘viral’ appeal among travellers.

The launch was teased via Lindt’s Instagram account, leveraging the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ trend that has captivated social media users, particularly on TikTok.

The Zürich Airport arrival followed the chocolate’s highly anticipated German debut, which saw long queues and widespread coverage online.

The Lindt Dubai Chocolade blends Lindt’s signature milk chocolate with a filling of 24% pistachio paste, crispy kadayif and creamy tahini. Kadayif, a fine dough with a long history in Levantine and Arab desserts, provides a delicate crunch, while tahini adds a rich, velvety texture.

Commenting on the success of the event, Avolta Global Category Management Head – Confectionery, Food, Souvenirs & Toys Philippe Moryl said: “This initiative perfectly illustrates the way Avolta aims to revolutionise travel retail, responding to travellers’ trends and demands. Thanks to our fantastic partnership and the agility of Peter Zehnder and his team, we were able to bring Lindt Dubai Chocolade to travellers when the viral product was at its peak.

“We’re thrilled that the much sought-after Lindt Dubai Chocolade brought such excitement to Zürich Airport and it created a great opportunity for our customers to discover our Lindt boutique that re-opened just few months ago.

“We will continue our active collaboration with the Lindt team, to surprise and delight our customers, and to bring exclusive brand experiences to our Club Avolta members. Journey on.”

Lindt Head of Global Travel Retail Peter Zehnder added: “Travel retail has always been a hotbed for innovation, so it is fitting that our customers got to experience – if they were lucky – the Lindt Dubai Chocolade. It was great to see the excitement around the Lindt boutique at Zürich Airport – proof that no product category can enchant the world quite like chocolate.”

This latest launch highlights Lindt’s ability to quickly capture emerging trends and elevate the travel retail confectionery experience. ✈
