Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli has extended the duty free exclusive Excellence range with an 85% cocoa variant in three flavours |
SWITZERLAND. Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli has introduced new duty free exclusive chocolate lines to capitalise on the trend it has identified for dark chocolate.
Following the success of the 70% cocoa Lindt Excellence Swiss Thins launched two years ago, the company has introduced an 85% cocoa version in three flavours – Noir, Orange and Mocha. The 200g upscale box contains 72 pieces.
The Lindt Silver range has also been extended with dark almond and dark almond orange variants. Making its debut last year, the Silver range already consists of dark and dark hazelnut lines to complement the original seven-flavour Gold line.
Also new is a 400g milk chocolate variant of the successful Lindor Tubes range, which joins the existing 400g and 800g assorted tubes launched into duty free last year.
“The 400g Lindor Tubes line is doing extremely well in duty free,” Patrick Baumann told The Moodie Report at this week’s IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas.
In addition, Lindt’s traditional, best-selling silver and gold churns have been joined by a new red and white Swiss flag churn.
Another highlight is the introduction to duty free of Pralines Noirs d’Origine chocolates made from Ecuadorean and Cuban cocoa.
All the above lines were launched in February 2006 exclusively to duty free worldwide.
