An Indian airport first: Belgian Fries |
INDIA. Indian food & drinks retailer Lite Bite Foods has opened the first Belgian Fries airport outlet at Indira Gandhi International in Delhi.
The franchise outlet, which serves fries with a range of toppings as well as other travel food options such as hotdogs, lasagna and chicken strips, is located in Terminal 1D.
Lite Bite Foods Director Rohit Aggarwal said: “This adds yet another offering in our bouquet of QSR outlets that we operate at the airport. Our existing outlets at the airports are doing extremely well and we hope to generate similar business with Belgian Fries.”
CEO Sharad Sachdeva noted that the outlet would add variety to the airport’s existing food options and would particularly appeal to “youngsters and kids”.
The company already has a Street Food by Punjab Grill outlet in Terminal 3 at the airport as well as a Baker Street outlet, and operates various other brands such as Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Krispy Kreme and 4700 BC Popcorn.
Lite Bite Foods recently entered into a joint venture partnership with HMSHost to bid for rights to launch and operate outlets at airports across India and Asian countries.
