Lithuanian Airports issues tender for six convenience stores across three air travel hubs

LITHUANIA. Lithuanian Airports has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for six convenience stores across the three international airports it operates at Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga. The contract will begin in early 2025.

There are currently six convenience stores operated at these airports by Lithuanian company Reitan under the brand Narvesen, but the areas those sites cover will substantially increase to a total of 516sq m as a result of terminal expansions and upgrades at the three airports. Three of the units will be at Vilnius, two at Kaunas and the other at Palanga.

These stores are expected to provide products including snacks, beverages, souvenirs and travel essentials.

Lithuanian Airports Sales Manager Simas Mocevičius told The Moodie Davitt Report that the airport company wants to appoint a single operator for the six stores, and expects bids from international convenience retailers.

“We are seeking long-term partnerships for this new chapter for Lithuanian airports,” Mocevičius said.

The three Lithuanian airports served just over 6 million passengers combined in 2023, with the number forecast to be close to 8 million by 2027 and to comfortably exceed 9 million by 2031.

Mocevičius also revealed that two food & beverage tenders and a duty free tender covering the three airports will follow during the first half of this year.
