UK. Liverpool John Lennon Airport has become the latest to have its shopping, food & beverage and other facilities featured on Google Indoor Maps.
The service, accessible online and through mobile applications, helps passengers navigate their way through the terminal. Liverpool John Lennon is the first UK airport to be mapped out by Google.
In addition to shops, restaurants and bars, the indoor maps also show the locations of toilets, ATM machines and information desk across the airport terminal’s three floors. They can also show passengers how to get from their current location to where they want to go to.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s Danny Pritchard said: “Even though surveys show 97% passenger satisfaction levels, we are always looking at ways to enhance the passenger experience.
“This Google Indoor Map application will help to make it even easier for our passengers to locate a particular bar, retailer, restaurant, coffee shop or perhaps the premium lounge.”
The airport recently completed a £12 million development programme, which has resulted in a new larger passenger security screening area and an expanded departure lounge, including the addition of a number of new and exciting retailers.
