L’Occitane celebrates Sydney Airport opening

AUSTRALIA. French skincare and beauty brand L’Occitane has opened a new boutique at Sydney Airport’s revamped Terminal 1.

Opened on 2 May, the new store was designed to reflect the brand’s Mediterranean heritage. Its beauty products, fragrances and homewares call to mind the traditions of Provence and are renowned for their high quality, natural ingredients, the airport company said.

Sydney Airport General Manager, Retail Derek Larsen said: “L’Occitane is a welcome addition to Sydney Airport and, like the other fantastic retailers who have already opened their doors, will add to the diversity of the shopping experience.”

The first product in the L’Occitane range was created by Olivier Baussan who was just 23 years old when he began producing pure oil harvested from wild Rosemary and selling it at the local markets. From these humble beginnings, Baussan went on to grow the business into one of France’s most recognised and successful brands. The brand has opened 1,400 stores worldwide since it was established in 1979.

Andrew Brisk from L’Occitane said: “Our products are devoted to well-being and the pleasure of taking care of oneself, and we will bring this same philosophy to our customers at Sydney Airport to cater for their personal needs or make gift selection easy for that special someone.”

As reported, The Moodie Report was in Sydney last week to prepare a special celebratory magazine that will profile T1’s redevelopment. It will be published next month.
