The company hopes that the launch will generate interest from travel retailers and distributors worldwide |
UK. Whisky supplier William Foulds & Co is looking to break into travel retail. The company, owned by specialist whisky merchant Richard Joynson, is to launch the Loch Fyne Scotch Whisky Liqueur nationwide this autumn.
The company hopes that the launch will generate interest from travel retailers and distributors worldwide. William Foulds & Co is based in Inverary in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Proprietor Richard Joynson, formerly a fish farmer, was named Retailer of The Year twice by Whisky Magazine.
The Loch Fyne Liqueur, which retails at £28.90 (US$52), will be available from UK specialist whisky retailers and can also be ordered online at www.lochfyneliqueur.com.
It is based on 12-year-old whiskies, and is described as “less sweet than other liqueurs, (having) a warming aroma of deluxe Scotch whisky, spicy orange cake and a tiny whiff of log fires”. The premium, full strength liqueur has an alcohol volume of 40% and is packaged in an attractive 70cl decanter bottle.

“Compared with whisky, the liqueur has a broader appeal and is preferred by both men and women,” said spokeperson Marcin Miller. “The Loch Fyne Liqueur is not as sweet as other liqueurs. It can be drunk on its own, is ideal for those who do not prefer the strong taste of whisky, and it can be mixed with coffee for after dinner. It produces a unique taste when mixed with blended and single malt whisky.”
