Looking beyond viruses – Taffix targets expansion in travel retail’s ‘new norm’

Taffix nasal spray – the brand, which was introduced to travel retail by GMAX Travel Retail earlier this year – is upping its focus on airport and inflight sales.

The brand, which is produced by Nasus Pharma and offers effective protection from inhaled viruses, is a Silver Partner of the upcoming Virtual Travel Retail Expo 2021. GMAX Travel Retail Founder Garry Maxwell believes the product is ideal for travellers.

Taffix nasal spray is “good to go’ in travel retail

“Taffix is a perfect fit for travel retail,” Maxwell said. “I firmly believe Taffix should be in airports and all travel retail outlets for the future not just during a pandemic as it provides protection against all forms of airborne viruses, which, unfortunately, will keep coming.”

He said the brand appreciated the opportunity to present its product to a global audience through the Virtual Travel Retail Expo.

“We will underline not only the instant strong sales revenue but the longer-term effect of enabling passengers to have the confidence to travel more regularly and safely,” Maxwell added.

Powder-based Taffix aims to lower the pH level in the nose – where most viruses enter the body – by creating a protective gel lining over the nasal cells to help prevent the viruses from entering . The spray creates a hostile microenvironment in the nose where many airborne viruses can’t survive.

According to Maxwell, Taffix works within 50 seconds and can provide protection for up to five hours. He pointed out that while face masks help prevent infections, they do not offer 100% protection.

“Taffix can provide an additional layer of protection at a cost of approximately US$0.10 per day,” he said.

The nasal spray is available in a Single Spray bottle (RRP €16, US$22) or alternatively in a Taffix Family pack.
