FRANCE. L’Oréal and PPR have confirmed that they have finalised the YSL Beauté licensing agreements, and the sale of the company, under the terms announced on 23 January 2008.
The parties are planning for an effective transfer at the end of June, following authorisation from the competition authorities.
As previously reported, L’Oréal approached PPR earlier this year, to acquire the shares of YSL Beauté Holding including the Roger&Gallet brand, for €1,150 million in terms of Enterprise Value.
This has secured L’Oréal an exclusive and “very long-term” worldwide licence for the use of the Yves Saint Laurent and Boucheron brands in the category of fragrances and cosmetics.
In addition, L’Oréal will also take over the licences for the Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and Ermenegildo Zegna brands, within the category of perfumes and cosmetics.
PPR continues to own the Yves Saint Laurent, Boucheron and Stella McCartney brands.
