L’Oréal reinforces hair research programme with Coloright acquisition

L’Oréal has acquired Coloright, a start-up company that develops hair fibre optical reader technology, for a long-term research programme. “Through this acquisition, L’Oréal reinforces its historic leadership in hair research,” noted the group.

Based in Tel Aviv, Coloright will continue to be managed by its CEO Sagiv Lustig, and will from now on be part of L’Oréal’s international Research and Innovation network.

The haircare/styling category is a key pillar for L’Oréal on the domestic market; earlier this year the group announced that it would introduce its Kérastase hair brand to the travel retail channel.

Kérastase is the world’s leading luxury professional hair care brand and heralds the introduction of a hitherto unexploited product category in the travel retail channel. A tailor-made retail approach and professional hair and scalp consultations will be offered by L’Oréal via dedicated Kérastase Hair Studios.
