SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free this morning (1 May) signed an MOU with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to support the development of new markets for Korean beauty and fashion brands.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Lotte Duty Free CEO Kim Joo-nam participated in the signing ceremony at Seoul City Hall.
Both parties will assist in the discovery and nurturing of new domestic fashion designers and cooperate in the marketing and promotion of joint beauty and fashion projects.
During the second half of the year, Lotte Duty Free will introduce a ‘Seoul Fashion Week Exclusive Pavilion’ at domestic and overseas stores. Seoul Fashion Week will support offline distribution channels by installing the dedicated spaces during Seoul Fashion Week at Lotte Duty Free’s stores in Jamsil World Tower, Seoul, and Ginza in Tokyo, Japan.

In conjunction with Seoul Beauty Week in September, K-beauty halls will be created at Jamsil World Tower and on Lotte Internet Duty Free to promote and sell small and medium-sized beauty brand products to tourists.
Lotte Duty Free said it plans to continue fostering promising fashion and beauty brands in Korea by conducting K-brand consulting in connection with Seoul City and helping to attract investment behind the respective companies.
Lotte Duty Free CEO Joo-Nam Kim said, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the city of Seoul to discover promising domestic brands with infinite potential and help them pioneer new markets. I will do my best to do so.”
Spring Seoul Fashion Week, held in March this year, has become a global business event representing the city of Seoul. The event was attended by 67 Korean designer brands while attracting 130 foreign buyers from 23 countries.
Seoul Beauty Week, which debuted last year, also drew a good response. Around 300 companies participated by presenting special exhibitions both online and offline. ✈ =
