IRELAND. Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced nine new routes from Stansted, Luton, Gatwick in London, Glasgow Prestwick and Stockholm airports.
The Dublin-based airline is to fly from London Stansted to Balaton in Hungary, Lamezia and Parma in Italy and Vitoria in Spain; and from Luton to Brest in France.
Other new routes announced today (Thursday) are from Prestwick to Marseille and Reus Barcelona and from Stockholm Arlanda to Kaunas and Gdansk.
With Ryanair’s first-ever route to Hungary, the number of countries served by Ryanair rises to 22, the firm said in a statement.
Announcing the new routes and a “one million free seats” sale in London today, Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary said: “With these five new [London] routes Ryanair will serve 90 destinations from London Stansted and 12 destinations from London Luton and will continue to carry more passengers than British Airways on their entire worldwide network.”
