FRANCE. LS travel retail is aiming to become the world’s second biggest travel retailer by 2016, parent company Lagardère Services has revealed. The company, which made travel retail sales of €2.3 billion in 2011, is targeting a +10% compound annual growth in net sales and an increase in EBITDA margin of up to one percentage point by 2016.
Ahead of an investor conference today (12 June) at which Lagardère Services is presenting its detailed travel retail growth strategy, the company revealed that it would target the growth through acquisitions and contract gains as well as by pursuing a more favourable product mix.
As part of the strategy, Lagardère Services said LS travel retail will aim for top five positions in each of the three component categories of travel retail: duty free and luxury, food service and travel essentials.
Travel retail represented 53% of Lagardère Services’ group sales in 2011.
The Moodie Report will report further details on LS travel retail’s growth strategy soon.
