LS travel retail North America opens iStore at Calgary

NORTH AMERICA. LS travel retail North America and Boutique iStore Canada have opened a mobile digital lifestyle destination concept called iStore at Calgary International Airport. It follows the opening of a new iStore Express outlet (an automated retail shop) in Terminal D on 27 January.

Opening today (February 9) in Concourse A, the store will offer personal mobile electronic hardware and accessories, including laptops, tablets, e-readers, cameras, and portable games, from leading brands Apple, Sony, Monster, Sennheiser, Kobo, Targus, and more.

“We are excited to be part of Calgary’s award-winning concessions programme, and we look forward to serving passengers with our unique fashion approach to mobile digital products. As more and more people buy more smartphones, tablets and e-readers, iStore will be there to provide accessories to travellers to protect and enhance these and other mobile devices”, said Mike Battat, President of Boutique iStore Canada.

Jonathan Alpert, Vice President of Merchandising at LS travel retail added: “We are energised by our ongoing partnership with Boutique iStore and bringing this very contemporary concept to Calgary – one of Canada’s busiest airports – is a major milestone for our team.”

Owned by Montreal-based Boutique iStore Canada, the iStore brand is developed and operated in airports by LS travel retail North America. Just over a year after signing an exclusive agreement, the two companies have seven locations in operation in four airports. The first US iStore will open at Boston Logan early in March with more US locations planned for later in 2012.
