HONG KONG. Luxottica Group has opened its first permanent standalone store in an Asia Pacific airport for the Ray-Ban brand at Hong Kong International Airport.
The 40sqm shop, opened in partnership with Airport Authority Hong Kong, is located in the Departures West Hall and features over 500 models, with a focus on Asian-fit and Asian-design ranges.
Featuring a design inspired by pop culture, the store is offering several special collections including Made in Japan, Titanium and exclusive colours only available in the store and Ray Ban’s other shops in the Greater China region.
Luxottica Global Channels Director Alessandro Pozzi commented: “Expanding standalone Ray-Ban stores into strategic airport locations is an exciting new opportunity, immersing travellers in a total brand experience from the world’s most famous name in eyewear.
“Showcasing both sun and optical ranges presents a new proposition and we believe the optical range will work especially well with Hong Kong International Airport’s unique home delivery service. The chance to open up the previously-untapped prescription lenses market at airports is significant.”
