To launch its Fall 2015 collection and to show its products from a new perspective, MAC Cosmetics scouted real people, not models, to be the faces of the brand.
MAC is encouraging consumers to look beyond the model stereotype and to use its cosmetics in an individual way. A worldwide contest was held to find inspiring individuals to represent the Fall 2015 colour collection. Out of thousands, six were chosen – Selena from Italy, Trésor from Canada, Luzmaria from USA, Vanessa from USA, Ji Won from Korea and Ben from Australia. View the campaign at www.macnificentme.com
The ethos of the brand is to move away from the generic, mass-produced idea of beauty and to encourage everyone to see cosmetics as a way to play with their image and boost their self-esteem. “Feel comfortable in your own skin. Make-up can come off so try something different,” said MAC Creative Director James Gager, in an encouragement of experimentation.
Lori Goldstein, the stylist behind the campaign, agreed, adding: “˜No-one is getting hurt! Try it, if you like it, go for it’.
The collection includes MACnificent Me Eye Shadow, a palette of nine shades, Patentpolish Lip Pencil, with names like Make Me Proud and It’s Really Me, and MACnificent Me Sculpt & Shape Powder.
MAC Cosmetics Fall 2015 collection is available from October 2015 at MAC travel retail locations worldwide.
