Scotch whisky company MacDuff International is marking its 25th anniversary with a limited-edition bottling of a 25yo Lauder’s Blended Scotch Whisky. It will be available from April in selected duty free stores in Europe, Middle East and Asia, priced around €200.
Only 2,000 presentations of the limited edition will be available, housed in bespoke decanters created by ceramic manufacturer Wade. According to Macduff, all bottles have already been bought through pre-order websites.

MacDuff International was formed in 1992 by Charles Murray, Edward Thomson and Stewart MacDuff. The trio approached the Hiram Walker Group to buy three of their brands, Lauder’s, Grand Macnish and Islay Mist. All had been in distribution for some time but had fallen behind Ballantine’s in the hierarchy
Macduff International Managing Director David Sloan commented: “We are immensely proud of the forthcoming launch of Lauder’s 25yo and are thrilled that this majestic whisky is sold out months before actual bottling, which hints at the value of the brand nowadays. It was helped by the fact that we sent out small samples of liquid for markets to judge.
“The launch of the Lauder’s 25yo and our 25th anniversary comes at a fitting time where we have broken into the top ten worldwide duty free in the blended Scotch category and are on the verge of being top five in Europe.”
Macduff said Lauder’s 25yo is the “crowning achievement” of over 180 years of Lauder’s tradition. Selected malt and grain whiskies are aged for a minimum of 25 years in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon oak casks. The resulting blend is said to combine complex and deep flavours of rich dried fruits and subtle spice. It is bottled at 42% abv and presented in a Wade decanter inside a luxury gift box.
