BELGIUM Marc Leemans has been named as Managing Director of the Chacalli De Decker group of companies, a leading wholesaler and distributor to the European travel retail trade, with activities in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK.

The highly respected Leemans is best known for his contribution to the growth of Belgian Sky Shops, where he was Commercial Manager for 17 years. He left that role last year to create his own consultancy.
In related news, Executive Director Mike Sheriff takes up the post of Business Development Director at Chacalli De Decker, based in the UK.
As reported, Chacalli De Decker (CDD) was taken over by the Overseas Trading Company (OTC) in September 2009. Overseas Trading Company, a specialist wholesaler and distributor in duty free and travel retail, had been a long-standing supply partner to Chacalli.
In a statement about the change in management the group said: “Marc brings with him 30 years of experience in wines and travel retail and has developed over the years a strong relationship with the majority of suppliers and other stakeholders in our industry.
“We are convinced that the combined efforts of Marc Leemans and OTC/CDD will allow us to grow existing business and to expand into new areas.”
