Experienced human resources (HR) executive Marcus Griffin has taken honours at the 2024 Excellence in HR Awards, created by Lifestyle Media Group’s South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine.
The award programme acknowledges South Florida’s professionals who are “redefining the HR role and influencing business cultures with their visionary leadership”. The award ceremony took place at Florida’s Gulfstream Park on 22 February.
Originally from Donegal, Ireland, Griffin has travelled extensively worldwide, establishing HR departments, conducting management development programmes and people integration projects. His over 20 years of work in the travel retail sector has included positions with both Aer Rianta International (ARI) and Dufry (now Avolta), where he was Senior Vice President Human Resources for more than eight years.
Griffin joined Diamonds International, which has stores throughout the Caribbean, Mexico and Alaska, as Senior Vice President People & Culture in December 2023.
In a congratulatory note regarding the award, Lifestyle Media Group Managing Director Kim Sarni described Griffin as “one of South Florida’s most distinguished HR professionals”.
