Marking a milestone: Bottega celebrates 45th anniversary

Italian winery and distillery Bottega is celebrating its 45th anniversary, the latest milestone for the company which was founded in 1977 by Master Distiller Aldo Bottega and his wife Rosina Zambon.

Bottega wines, liqueurs, grappas and other spirits have claimed over 350 awards and are present in more than 150 countries around the world. The company is owned by the Bottega family, with Barbara, Sandro and Stefano Bottega spearheading its development.

The company is based in Bibano di Godega SU, 50km north of Venice. Located in the Prosecco DOC area, it is in an area where Cabernet, Chardonnay, Raboso, Picolit and other well-known grape varieties are cultivated.

Milestones include the 1992 introduction of Il Vino dei Poeti, a sparkling Prosecco; the 1995 the launch of Fragolino; the commercial success of Bottega Gold from the early 2000s; the opening of a new headquarters in Bibano in 2007 and the expansion of wine production to Valpolicella and Montalcino from 2009 to 2011. In 2013, Distilleria Bottega Srl was reorganised as Bottega S.p.A.

Bottega introduced its Prosecco Bar concept in 2014 to pair Venetian and Italian cuisine with the brand’s wines and spirits. A network of 32 locations includes airports, railway stations, cruise ships and hotels.

As reported, Bottega launched three liqueurs at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. Limoncello Sorrento, Gianduia Fondente and Cappuccino liqueur were featured alongside a new Bottega Stella Rosa sparkling wine.
