Mavala, the Swiss company renowned for its colourful nail polish collections, has expanded its beauty range with several new items inspired by the fashion catwalk.
Arabesque Color’s is the name of Mavala’s Autumn/Winter 2012/13 nail polish collection. Designers of the new range drew their artistic inspiration mainly from the Art Nouveau period, from the theatrical culture of Imperial China, Hellenic geometric designs and Ottoman spiral ornaments, which aim to “bring a note of nomadic and refined luxury to today’s fashion”, the company said.

Inspired by this ornamental trend, the nail polish collection is described as glossy and metallised, in bold and sophisticated colours spanning dark purple, brown, emerald green, amber, steel, red and mauve.
Mixing and matching is the motto of Mavala’s new lipstick range for Autumn/Winter 12/13. Bold prints and colours are applied in non-standard combinations. The result is “gently eccentric” dashes of colour that fuse with classic beauty or timeless garments, the company said.
The Extravagance Collection of Mavalia lipsticks features three bright shades and three discreet, subtly silvered or muted shades. Colours include muted brown, creamy beige, bold orange, fuchsia, iridescent pink and red.

New foot care treatment
Also new from Mavala is Hydro-Repairing Foot Care treatment for very dry feet, chapped and cracked heels. The product has a menthol fragrance and contains 25% of urea with moisturising and keratolytic properties, providing a softening and desquamating effect, according to the firm.
Its rich formula of apricot pulp extract with pro-vitamin A and hydro-regulating complex is said to soothe and moisturise the skin immediately and enables it to fight efficiently against any abnormal thickness of the corneous layer of the feet. The skin is claimed to regain comfort, suppleness and softness. No parabens are used in the formula, which is tested under dermatological control.
Presented in a 50ml tube, boxed, this treatment completes Mavala’s line of eight foot care products.
