At a private reception in Surrey, the Maxxium Global Travel Retail management team celebrated the professional achievements of Tim Braithwaite (centre) who retired in September. INTERNATIONAL. Maxxium Global Travel Retail (GTR) has announced two key appointments following the retirement of Finance & Commercial Director Tim Braithwaite at the end of September.
Laurent Cosson has been promoted to Commercial Director of Maxxium GTR reporting to President Erik Juul-Mortensen. He was previously Marketing Manager for Maxxium GTR Europe South and Middle East, and is based in the Maxxium Worldwide BV head office in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
In his new position Cosson is responsible for the co-ordination of global marketing and commercial issues, including new brand development in consultation with the brand owners, business planning and reporting, exhibition participation, promotional events, advertising, promotions and public relations.
Jeremy Chaplin has been appointed Finance Director of Maxxium GTR, also reporting directly to Juul-Mortensen, and will continue to be based in Stirling, Scotland, where he has until recently been Business Planning Manager for Maxxium UK.
In his new role Chaplin will be responsible for all financial aspects and disciplines in Maxxium GTR including budgeting, forecasting, business planning and analysis, pricing control, IT and administration.
Erik Juul-Mortensen said: “Under Tim’s inspired leadership and management, the Maxxium GTR finance and commercial function has played a critical part in the success of the organisation, and Tim has played a fundamental role in the rapid development we have experienced. I want to thank Tim for his outstanding contribution to Maxxium; it has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with him.
“The promotion of Laurent and Jeremy to pivotal roles within the organisation underlines our commitment to the sustainable growth and healthy development of our partner brands within the duty free and travel retail markets worldwide.”
Other members of the Maxxium GTR management team, all reporting to Juul-Mortensen, are Joel Lafon, Regional Director Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong; Santiago Cash, Regional Director for the Americas, based in Miami; Glen Williams, Regional Director Europe South, Middle East and Africa, based in the UK; Erik Thomsen, Regional Director Europe North including Eastern Europe and Russia, based in Stockholm and Kai Mueller, Global Supply Chain Director Global Travel Retail.
Maxxium GTR has also appointed Essential Communications to handle its press and public relations.
