MCM’s latest shop launch took place in November 2008 on the prestigious Königsallee in Düsseldorf |
GERMANY. Luxury leathergoods company MCM has opened a boutique in Düsseldorf, as part of its revival by brand owner and top Korean businesswoman Sung-Joo Kim.
The shop launch took place on 29 November 2008 in a coveted location next to Chanel on the prestigious Königsallee in the German city, which is fast becoming a firm fixture on the international fashion map.
The new store mirrors the black and white fixturing in MCM’s other flagship boutiques, including London’s Sloane Street and Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm.
As part of the new boutique celebrations, MCM Chairperson Sung-Joo Kim hosted a press event at the store with the brand’s German-born Creative Director Michael Michalsky on 3 December, followed by a dinner for 30 VIPs and leading journalists in the city’s Monkeys Restaurant.
