SRI LANKA. The Middle East Duty Free Association has reinforced its support for the Alpha tsunami disaster relief project by making a donation of US$25,000 to the trust fund today.
Started to help 20 families whose homes were destroyed by the disaster, the project is progressing well – with the families likely to move into their new homes before Christmas.

MEDFA President Colm McLoughlin said: “This is the first time we as the duty free industry could identify with a relief project. We know where every dollar is going, and that is fantastic.”
Thanking MEDFA for the contribution, Centaur Travel Retail President Rakhita Jayawardena, who started the project with Alpha Asia Managing Director Paul Topping, said: “They have continued to send us support. They make regular contributions to this project. Words just aren’t enough to thank people like Colm and his team.”
