Messika adds dazzle to Lotte Duty Free online offer

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has added French luxury jewellery brand Messika to its online store offers.

As reported, the brand made its South Korea debut with Lotte Duty Free, located at its flagship downtown store in Myeong-dong, Seoul in June last year.

A second boutique opened on the 9th floor of the Lotte World Tower Store in Jamsil in July last year.

The brand has seen rapid growth since its launch in 2005 by Valerie Messika, with its products now available in 75 countries.

Lotte Duty Free noted a +280% year-on-year increase in its Messika sales in October.

Messika’s jewellery collection is described as a modern reinterpretation of a timeless diamond.

The brand is known for introducing creative and stylish ways of stacking jewellery pieces, such as mixing and matching chain-shaped bracelets, bangles, or multiple rings.

Among Messika’s signature creations is the Move Collection, which features three moving diamonds. The collection comprises more than 360 different products.

Lotte Duty Free online shop is showcasing the My Twin Collection, which combines core products from the brand’s Move Classic and Move Uno, with two different diamond cuts.

Messika now joins the diverse lineup of luxury jewellery brands available at Lotte Duty Free’s online store.

To respond to an increasing demand for luxury jewellery and watches, domestic duty free retailers have added more brands including Chaumet, Fred, Damiani, and Vacheron Constantin.

Lotte Duty Free Head of Product Division Lee Jeong-min said: “It is meaningful to be the first in the duty free industry to introduce Messika on both online and offline channels.

“Lotte Duty Free will continue to strive to strengthen the lineup of famous domestic and international jewellery and watch brands to present them to customers.”

The retailer has also continued to expand its brand portfolio across all categories this year.

Among the brands launched at Lotte Duty Free stores in 2023 were K-fashion brand The Museum Visitor in July, and French fashion labels Ami Paris and Maison Kitsune in September.

Simihaze Beauty was also introduced at Lotte Duty Free’s Myeongdong flagship store in September.

Simihaze Beauty has yesterday opened a pop-up space on the first floor of LDF House, South Korea’s first experiential duty free shopping showroom. The activation is running until 14 December.
