MONACO. The new Summer 2007 collection from Monaco-based jewellery company Misaki is inspired by the Modern Boudoir spirit. In line with the new romantic trend, the collection plays with a boudoir feeling modernised to fit today’s fashion.
Sensuality is symbolised by lingerie touches, including bows, lace and corsets, while modernity is shown in design details such as engravings, faceted ball chains and signet ring.

Colours and materials underline the feminine feel. Tones are in pink shades – coral, burgundy, purple, violet – and materials suggest softness: satin, resin, leather, mother-of-pearl, pink and yellow gold plating.
Key jewellery sets:
Set Anaïs: Pink cultured pearls contrasting with black-plated stainless steel bows. Use of a new material, black satin ribbon, for the bracelet. Complete set: light and fluid sautoir, classic pearl necklace revamped with black knots, matching brooch and mobile chain accessory.
Set Corset: Lacing effect with a soft violet leather ribbon. The sterling silver pendant appears like the silhouette of a laced bust. The watch bracelet is held by real lacing and reveals the skin underneath.
Set Elisa: New technology is used for this romantic jewellery. Laser engraving of a wrought Chantilly lace pattern on metal. Pink gold plating is mixed with tone in tone X-treme Lustre pearls and burgundy-coloured resin. Bangle stainless steel watch with a masculine spirit softened by the lace pattern.

Set Flamingo: Art Deco inspiration for designer jewellery. Glamorous pink gold plating on sterling silver and tone in tone X-treme Lustre pearls contrasts with black resin and ball chain.
Set Blondie: Glamorous jewellery with an army touch. The gold-plated sterling silver tags are engraved and decorated with tone-in-tone mother-of-pearl. Fine details: thin faceted ball chain and light crystals. Just like real army tags, each pendant and bracelet has a unique Misaki serial number.
NEW SALES TOOLS
This year, Misaki has launched a new range of sales tools comprising merchandising, packaging and display units. They are designed to be in line with the new spirit of the brand: pure lines and creative design on high quality materials, the company said.
New packaging
A new collection of eight boxes has been created for the domestic and duty free markets. The boxes were designed in the spirit of an opening shell with a modern interpretation. Covered with an iridescent pearl-coloured soft material, they are embossed with the Misaki bronze logo. The inside has a bronze suede type lining, revealed by the asymmetric shape of the lid.
The design of this collection was inspired from the company’s proposed shop concept, whose main architectural characteristic is a series of broken lines, similar to those of the new packaging.
For the airline market, the packaging concept was adapted with the addition of a see-through window on the lid. The iridescent pearl-colored material is paired with a cream seta lining.
New shopping bags have also been created to complete the collection, consisting of a small bag in metallic bronze color and white Misaki logo and a larger version with a white background and a printed Misaki visual, updated for each new jewellery collection.
New merchandising
Misaki’s new merchandising collection has been developed to offer a wide range of 28 stands. The more usual shapes, such as busts or earring stands, were revamped into a more modern version with pure lines.
A lighter effect has been created, reinforced by the use of a new material: thick but transparent high-end Plexiglas. They are also available with a bronze or white background for a fashionable look.
Misaki has designed a series of new stands to offer a more dynamic display presentation:
– Multi-purpose Podiums: Display jewellery with unusual shapes and give volume to the general presentation.

– Multi-purpose Coloured Squares: Same advantages as Podiums but also adapted to the shades of the jewellery. For the 2007 collection, they are available in metallic pink, bronze as well as black.
– Multi-purpose Rectangle: Hang several pendants and avoid an accumulation of busts.
– Multi-purpose Triangles: Display horizontally several bracelets or pendants and lighten the general presentation.
New displays
Misaki has also developed two new kinds of display:
Window Display Unit: Composed of three boards of different heights for a dynamic presentation. The main board offers product display together with an interchangeable Misaki visual and two small movable shelves.
The two sideboards with streamlined design can be arranged around the centerpiece to offer more display space. The boards are elevated on Plexiglas to give it a “floating” feeling in line with the new light concept for the shop concept architecture which will be implemented in the near future, according to Misaki.
Two versions are available: a large one that fits the Misaki counter unit and a smaller version more adapted to smaller and lower counters.
Cash & Carry Display Unit: Misaki says its first Cash & Carry display unit will enable customers to improve sales in duty free and department store points of sale where impulse purchases are becoming increasingly important.
Made in white lacquered MDF, three sides of the display are decorated with Misaki visuals. The fourth has a door for storage space and bears the Misaki logo.
Each side of the display is designed for one kind of jewellery, up to 52 earrings or rings, 25 pendants or thin necklaces, 17 watches or bracelets and eight necklaces.
A special packaging collection has been developed for the Cash & Carry display in the spirit of the new packaging line with iridescent pearl-coloured material, cream suede type lining and see-through window on the lid.
