Moët Hennessy and Beyoncé’s SirDavis whisky enters travel retail with DFS

SirDavis, the new American whisky from Moët Hennessy and singer/songwriter/entrepreneur Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, has been released into travel retail with DFS at three leading US airports.

Passengers can purchase the luxury liquid and participate in tasting activations at DFS duty-free stores in John F. Kennedy International and Los Angeles International airports.

The whisky is also available through the luxury travel retailer at San Francisco International Airport.

Following what Moët Hennessy describes as an “overwhelming” pre-order period that began on 20 August, SirDavis can now also be purchased in domestic retail in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, New York, Tennessee, Washington D.C. and Texas.

SirDavis is also available with selected retailers in London, Paris and Tokyo. Additional markets are earmarked for distribution in coming months.

The brand honours Davis Hogue, Knowles-Carter’s great-grandfather, who was a farmer and moonshiner during Prohibition, and after whom the SirDavis brand is named. The vessel’s finely ribbed glass evokes the Art Deco style of Hogue’s era.

The whisky was crafted by renowned Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden, who previously worked with Scotch single malt whisky brands Glenmorangie and Ardbeg.

SirDavis’s distinctive grain selection — 51% rye and 49% malted barley — and unusual secondary maturation in sherry casks aims to impart an elegant mouthfeel and texture reminiscent of Japanese and Scotch whiskies, while retaining the robust and deep flavours typical of classic American rye. ✈
