ITALY. Luxury brand Moncler, with support from travel retail consultancy 2.0 & Partners, has opened a standalone boutique at Rome Fiumicino Airport.
The directly operated 129sq m store offers Moncler’s menswear and womenswear lines with a special focus on puffer jackets.
It is also a showcase for the Moncler Genius designer collaborations. Each collection gives different designers and brands the chance to reinvent Moncler’s key pieces.
Recent collaborations include collections with Salehe Bembury, Liberty of London and Pharell Williams among others.
The elegant boutique, located in Terminal 1, was designed in line with the brand’s sleek visual aesthetic and offers bespoke in-store experiences.
A sculptural façade, which features a jumble of different words that convey special meaning for the brand, is a key design feature.
Moncler’s bestselling puffer jackets feature at the front of the store, which is designed in a gallery style. Mirrored walls, black-and-white marble flooring and stylish Italian furniture create Sense of Place, while offering a relaxing ambiance for travellers to discover Moncler’s products.
2.0 & Partners Senior Executive Vice President Marco Passoni commented: “No brand is creating bespoke and outstanding luxury experiences like Moncler today. This new store at the revamped Terminal 1 in Rome Fiumicino Airport is the latest example of the brand’s brilliance, bringing its instantly recognisable style and story to life for travelling shoppers looking to extend their Italian experience at the airport.
“Done right, luxury experience such as this elevate both airport retail and the brand’s ability to engage consumers – Moncler continues to be a leader in both areas.” ✈
