Mondelez World Travel Retail (WTR) has been ranked the number one performing supplier in global travel retail in the 2023 Advantage Report.
The Advantage Report is an annual performance benchmarking study based on both quantitative and qualitative research involving 35 duty free retailers.
The report aims to help brand owners understand and improve their customer engagement in key business areas.
This year, retailers and distributors evaluated the performance of their suppliers on a range of four critical engagement drivers of high-performing partnerships. These are partnership, execution, reputation and vision.
Mondelez World WTR also received top-tier evaluation in the confectionery category. The company noted that this ranking reflects its dedication to constantly leading through innovations and putting the traveller at the centre of everything that it does.

The confectionery giant emerged at the top of the competition in every engagement driver category. With this achievement, it seeks to further invest in partnerships and strengthen its status as the “driving force” for growth in travel retail.
The company has also celebrated its success at the recently concluded TFWA World Exhibition and Conference. It noted the connections and commitments it created during the Cannes show, which attracted 7,385 visitors.

Mondelez World WTR emphasised its gratitude to the industry for the collaborative efforts in enhancing the travel retail experience.
At the TFWA World Exhibition, the confectionery leader revealed its new products and innovations, with a particular focus on its premium Toblerone pralines.
The company said the launch of this new product helps drive its premiumisation strategy and highlights its commitment to driving product innovation as it aims to attract more consumers and deliver more spend.
Mondelez International President for Central Europe, EU Central Sales and Global Licensing Clive Jones said: “We very much appreciate this positive feedback, recognising how Mondelez strives for in-store excellence, product innovation and productive business partnerships.
“We are proud of our leading position in the market and the strong reputation built over many years, but success can only be delivered through the collective effort, trust and strength of relationship with our industry partners.”
Mondelez World Travel Retail Managing Director Jaya Singh added: “I’m proud to announce that Mondelez World Travel Retail has been ranked as the industry leader, acknowledged by the number one position in overall performance across all suppliers in this year’s Advantage Report for Global Travel Retail as well as number one in confectionery.
“The results of this survey clearly demonstrate who we are, what we do and how we do it – a fantastic milestone for the Mondelez WTR team and one they can be very proud of. This wouldn’t have been possible without our ongoing commitment to increasing category growth through penetration and conversion, driving more shoppers, more spend and more often.” ✈
